Phenothiazine-induced dystonia associated with an increase in serum creatine phosphokinase.
نویسنده
چکیده
A transient but considerable rise in serum creatine phosphokinase (CPK) levels occurred in six boys aged between 8 and 11 years and suffering from phenothiazine-induced dystonia. In one boy (Case 4), after the CPK level had returned to normal after withdrawal of the drug, its reintroduction orally at lower dosage caused a slight increase in the level of CPK in the absence of any recurrence of the dystonia.

Creatine phosphokinase values and myalgia during isotretinoin therapy
Background: Systemic isotretinoin is a very effective medication for the treatment of acne, but it has some side effects. One of its side effects is musculoskeletal problems such as increased levels of creatine phosphokinase (CPK), myalgia, and serious muscle damage such as rhabdomyolysis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the incidence of myalgia and its relationship with the elevation of ...

Sustained increase of serum creatine phosphokinase (CPK) concentrations and muscle abnormalities have been reported in patients taking raltegravir (RAL). In this report, we describe a case of sustained and asymptomatic increase of serum CPK concentrations associated with raltegravir, zidovudine, and lamivudine in an HIV-1 experienced patient with intolerance to protease inhibitor, abacavir and ...
